Approve the channel in YouTube Kids
YouTube Kids lets you switch a child's profile to approved content only: then the child sees only the channels and videos you picked, and search is off. Our channel can be one of them. It takes about a minute:
Open the parent settings in the YouTube Kids app.
In the app, open Settings (the lock icon in the corner). The app asks you to pass a grown-up check first.
Choose your child's profile and switch on "Approved content only".
In your child's content settings, choose the option that lets you approve content yourself. In this mode your child sees only what you approve, and search is turned off.
Add the Why Why Why Kids channel.
Use the add (+) option to search for "Why Why Why Kids" and approve the channel. You can also approve single videos instead of the whole channel.
The exact names of buttons change with app versions, so we describe the steps in plain words. If you get stuck, YouTube Kids' own help pages describe "Approve content yourself" step by step. Our channel name on YouTube is Why Why Why Kids (@WhyWhyWhyKidsTV).
Or watch together on YouTube
Every page on this site has a Watch on YouTube button. On a "made for kids" video YouTube turns off comments, personalised ads and notifications by itself. After a video ends, the player on our pages only suggests videos from our own channel.
For teachers and homeschool
The videos work as two-minute science starters for K-2. Each topic page has a one question a week list you can print, and every episode has a coloring page with the answer in three sentences and a small experiment that needs only kitchen things.
- My Amazing Body - 11 questions
- Animals, Plants & Seasons - 8 questions
- Kitchen Science - 4 questions
- How Things Work - 6 questions
Coloring pages are free to print and copy for home and classroom use. Please do not sell them or put them on other websites; link to this page instead.
Privacy, in one breath
This site collects nothing. No accounts, no forms, no newsletter, no comments, no cookies, no analytics, no advertising. The pages are plain files.
The only outside connection is the YouTube player, and it loads only after you press play, through YouTube's privacy-enhanced youtube-nocookie.com address. Pressing "Watch on YouTube" takes you to youtube.com, where YouTube's own terms apply.
Fonts and pictures are served from this site itself, so nothing is requested from third parties when a page opens.
